Courtoisie is a designer bed born from its namesake designer headboard, completed by an exclusive bed base conceived to enhance its architectural presence and distinctive aesthetic identity.
Designed to define the bedroom space, Courtoisie interprets the bed as an element capable of engaging in dialogue with both its surroundings and the people who inhabit them. The headboard, with its enveloping and tactile form, lends depth and character to the composition, transforming the bed into the true focal point of the room.
The structure is crafted from blockboard and curved plywood, featuring precision-milled detailing that accommodates a handwoven Dedar fabric. An oil finish protects the surfaces over time while enhancing the quality and natural beauty of the materials.
“My idea was to give the headboard an active role in the perception of space, transforming it into a structure that envelops the bed, to create a sense of protection and intimacy. Its curved edge is not just a formal detail, but a design choice that generates a sort of ‘roof’, a covering that shelters and welcomes. This enveloping form not only frames the bed, but amplifies the feeling of comfort and safety, turning this area into a true refuge within the room.”
