Martino Gamper, Officer of the Order of the British Empire, was born in Merano in 1971. After an apprenticeship with a furniture maker in his hometown, he studied sculpture under Michelangelo Pistoletto at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In 2000 he completed a Master’s degree at the Royal College of Art in London, where he studied with Ron Arad. He currently lives and works in London.
His work spans design and art, with projects ranging from exhibition design to interiors, as well as unique pieces and industrial products for the international design scene. He presents works and projects internationally, collaborating with companies and clients such as Moroso, Kvadrat, Nilufar Gallery, Serpentine Gallery and The Aram Gallery.
Martino feels at home among Bolzan’s production lines. From the very first meeting, he immersed himself in the company’s production process, establishing a constructive and collaborative dialogue throughout his process of concept, prototyping and development.
